Today I had to say goodbye to my artist friends in Wyoming to go to the airport. I rode with another artist and we took photos along the way back to Jackson. My flights to Denver and Boston were great, as was the bus trip to Portsmouth. My hubby and 2 dogs were waiting for me when I arrived!

"Steering Committee"

This morning was a quick draw with Joe Bohler, Jeanne MacKenzie, Heiner Hertling, John and Suzie Seerey-Lester, Lee Cable and Wanda Mumm. After watching them for a bit I started 2 new pieces: one of 2 cows and another of a chicken, both in a square format. After lunch, Jeannie MacKenzie gave a talk about working from photographs and then gave us an assignment: to choose one of her photos and complete it in 2 hours as if we were out plein air painting. Look at my steer! In the evening I met with Bob Koenke and we all attended the aution!     Comments

"Great Spirit Bear"

This morning I had critiques with Jack Hines and then Jessica Zemsky. I went up to the studio and continued to work on my paintings of the grizzly bears, scrubbing out the blue background on the smiling bear and painting in the orange tones. In the afternoon, Jessica did a portrait demonstration and in evening I met up with my artist freind and mentor Andrew Denman...     Comments

Today we visited a couple of galleries in Jackson at the art festival, sampled some Starbucks coffee and toured from Jackson to Dubois and took more photos. We saw many animals and wildlife including horse, ducks and geese, 2 herds of buffalo and a herd of antelope and stopped for a few photo shoots. I can't wait to get the pictures!
We had lunch at the Cowboy Cafe in Dubois, set up to sell art supplies and met with some of the other artists. We checked in to our rooms and then went for a nice get-together in the evening and met the guest and instructor artists.

Today I went off to Wyoming to paint! I took the bus from Portsmouth to Logan Airport. Dave dropped me off at the bus terminal there on his way to work this morning. My friend Pat picked me up at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, airport when I landed around 4:30pm. The time difference there is 2 hours behind ours.

I had to change planes in Denver and had a 3 hour lay-over but that gave me a chance to do some reading. Both flights were great and it was so great to see my friend after a year and 3 months! We camped in Grand Teton National Park for the night in her camper and went out before sunset to take some photos and go for a walk. More tomorrow...

"Hobo"
10"x8"
Saturday I did a demo at the Hounds Tooth Inn. I started a portrait of my dog Hobo. I worked more on the portrait this morning... It's almost finished... I need to do a bit more on the background, and make some minor changes in the face.     Comments
