I am back from my travels and have lots of photos to work from and pastels to finish and frame... I have posted a couple of photos below...
![]() "Clouded Leopard" photograph... This little clouded leopard was resting under a huge boulder to be hidden from view and get some peaceful sleep... Comments ![]() "Black Leopard" photograph... As you can see I photographed this black leopard behind fencing in his enclosure. He was very interested in sounds he was hearing coming from an area beyond my vision. Wildlife rescues are limiting access to the animals even for private photo shoots. At one time an artist could photograph through the fence holes to get shots without the fence lines, however to limit human contact with wild animals, this is no longer being allowed. It is for the safety of the photographer as well as the animal... Comments Wednesday, November 08, 2006 ![]() "Reeds and Cats" soft pastel, 4"x11"... I added some darks and lights to this scene I painted plein air on October 19 (See my October 2006 blog for the image. I am happy with it now... Comments Friday, November 10, 2006 ![]() "Dusk" soft pastel, 4"x6"... This little painting was done around 3:30 in the afternoon at Cape Porpoise, of Goat Island Lighthouse. I have been working on this little scene for a couple of weeks, ever since I saw the harbor seal at Scarborough Marsh. The rocks he is laying on are from "Bug" light in Portland... Comments Wednesday, November 15, 2006 ![]() "Snow Leopard Drawing" graphite, 24x18"... I photographed this female snow leopard during my recent photo shoot in Florida. She shyly crept out of her cave to check me out. I will be doing a pastel demonstration on Sunday, Novemebr 19 at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, and she will be my subject. This male Bengal was concealed behind tall grasses, which will also be included in the finished pastel...
