My Art Everyday Blog

One of my goals as an artists is to paint everyday...
Days I'm not in the studio I go on photo shoots to gather reference material and study animals,
or visit museums and galleries to satisfy my hunger for art and talk with my peers...
This blog is my visual diary... a record of my daily artwork.
I paint in soft pastel, however occasionally you will find drawings, watercolors, mixed media collages & photographs.
Please join me on my journey as an artist as I create art everyday!

I painted outside on my front porch again today. It was a bit more windy but another beautiful day. After refining the two rooster paintings I did on Tuesday, I worked on another rooster that was strutting around! I used my usual orange-tinted Wallis paper for this one. I do have to get more Belgian mist paper! I used it for the first time last year during my Wyoming trip.     Comments

I worked outside on my front porch today, the weather was so beautiful. These roosters are part of a new series of small paintings of roosters and chickens from my visit last spring to Blackrock Farm in Kennebunkport. For rooster #1, I used Wallis Belgian Mist professional grade sanded paper. For rooster #2, I used my usual orange-tinted museum grade Wallis paper. I do like the effect and tone of the Belgian mist paper. I used it for the first time last year during my Wyoming trip.     Comments
