Workshop Itinerary
Program Overview - Plein-Air Land/Seascape Painting:
Open to artists at all levels, this 2-day intensive workshop will feature
lessons on plein air painting and individual student's needs.
Each morning will begin with a demonstration and practice lessons to stimulate your creativity.
Students will begin their work with thumbnail sketches, using techniques of color
in landscape painting, composition, value contrasts and the focal point to capture their chosen scene.
Whether a very beginner or advanced painter, I will work with you individually wherever you are in skill level.
We will have private as well as a group critique each day to maximize the benefit of each other’s experiences.
During your workshop, you’ll find a wealth of subjects to paint: the ocean and rocky coastline, boats, the dock,
the lighthouse, seafowl, flowers and foliage, and lovely vistas and buildings. As the light moves across the landscape it
gives the painter an endless stream of possibilities for discovery. This area was chosen for our workshop
because of the variety in this...and to hopefully capture the essence of Maine’s beauty. We’ll also have a
side trip to the Wright Gallery.
We will begin our workshop at 8:30 am Wednesday morning and continue on Thursday.
One-on-one plein air workshops are possible at this location as well. Please email me for details and to set a date!
I hope you’ll consider joining me for this workshop! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.
